Buckingham and Blenheim have been looking at Mountains and the surrounding area this half term as part of their learning journey 'Misty Mountain Sierra'. Part of this work has involved understanding about the 'water cycle' and interpreting maps.
We have also learned about contour lines and experienced how steep mountains can be when we visited Castleton. Treak Cliff Cavern was brilliant and we were able to see giant stalagmites and stalactites underground. The caves were very wet and we learned how the water soaks through the rocks and into the ground. Overall both classes thoroughly enjoyed the visit and were a credit to the school.
