Y6 really enjoyed having the Maltby Town Council Tommy visit it us. It was a really nice way to wrap up our WW1 learning. We also had the library service visit to read us some WW1 stories. We learnt lots of interesting facts about WW1. We have really enjoyed learning about WW1, why not take a look at some of our fantastic learning.
Haddon and Hardwick class have been involved in organising Manor's remembrance celebration, and on Friday 9th November, they created an assembly for the whole school to watch and pay their respects to the heroes that have fought in the wars. Last term they looked closely at the question 'Would you be able to survive in a WW1 trench?' so this assembly was very poignant as they have looked closely at the effects of war on British society. After the assembly, they took their shovels and planted trees to remember the fallen soldiers.
