Our Year 5 children have been enjoying reading 'The Boy at the Back of the Class' by Onjali Q Rauf.

In the novel, the main characters are trying to support a boy who is a refugee. They seek support from their local MP.

We were lucky enough to have a visit from our Rother Valley MP Alexander Stafford to discuss how the government support refugees, as well as ask him all about his role and his work in Westminster.

Year 5 asked some thought-provoking and interesting questions and impressed Mr Stafford with their enthusiasm and curiosity.
