World Book Day
Year 1 - We read the beginning of the story Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The children designed their own Wonderland. The children were confident communicators and explained what they had chosen to include in their wonderlands.
Year 2 - The children in Y2 enjoyed reading the book 'The Crayon Man' and used this for inspiration for their artwork. In Science, we investigated how to build a tower using the crayons - it took a lot of perseverance to keep going!
Year 3 - We have been basing all of today's learning on The Tin Forest by Helen Ward and Wayne Anderson. Year 3 started the morning by listening to the story and completing book reviews to show our opinions of the story and what we enjoyed about it. We then watched a short film version of the story and made comparisons between the two versions. In art, we used a range of different materials to create a mixed-media collage that depicted some of the scenes found in the many beautiful illustrations in the book. All of this was done with the children wearing PJs as they enjoyed taking part in today's pyjamarama!
Year 5 - thoroughly enjoyed coming to school in their pjs maybe even a little to much! We enjoyed Oliver Twist that much that we are going to begin reading the story as our class story. #Year5lovereading
