  • Year 5 - Egyptian Day

    Published 05/04/19

To celebrate our ancient Egyptian learning journey, an ancient Egyptian workshop visited Year 5 which brought the learning to life. Full of fun and laughter, the children met an Egyptologist called Clarence Trimbold who took the children back in time to when the tomb of Tutankhamun was first discovered. Children demonstrated their amazing acting ability as they were taken on journey through time to discover what daily life was like for the ancient Egyptians. The non-stop session also gave children the opportunity to mummify one of their class mates, carefully following the process to remove the organs and ensure the body was prepared for the afterlife. This was a fantastic celebration of our learning and the children showed an excellent understanding of this incredible period of history.

It encourages children to add a contact in WhatsApp messenger. Children are then sent threatening images and dares which pose increasing risk to a child’s safety. We are not aware of any children affected locally but we would encourage you to be vigilant to your child’s online activity.
